So it's really just Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter that are arguably unique interpretations for this game.
Can't say I see anything even slightly unorthodox about those depictions, they just have higher production values than maybe you're used to seeing Greek gods presented with? Artemis was always a "maiden", portraying her as a teenager isn't new. Zeus, Ares, Artemis, Hermes, Dionysus, Athena, are all pretty pure representations. I do not think that, nor do I agree with your premise that all of the gods are or should be reimagined just for the sake of being quirky or whatever. I almost wish they'd swap in a new drawing for the full release. Or if they hinted at a personality more mixed with on a recognizable archetype something, like they did for Hades or Artemis, she would be more interesting. Aphrodite? Anyone else feel like she's the dullest god? (Even Athena, whose personality is very Athena-y, at least has an unexpected and iconic visual design.) Like if Aphrodite was holding a helmet, or a big feather, or had a different kind of diction, or something, it would be closer to par to the other outstanding representations. Ares is the god of war, but also has sophisticated weapon-dealer vibesīut Aphrodite is. Artemis is the maiden goddess of the hunt, but also a semi-awkward lesbian teenager Poseidon is the ocean god, but also the 'cool' uncle with the not-quite top job
Hades is a king, but also a bit like a 1900 bank bureaucrat In particular, their personalities seem to have a bit of a modern 'role.' They all feel like fresh interpretations, with loads of personality in what they say and how they say it. One of my favorite things about Hades is the unexpected characterization of the gods.
